A glimpse of life with Ravens
Rescuing baby ravens is NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THE FAINT OF NOSE! It is also a fascinating, intimate glimpse into bird intelligence, vanity, caring, and destructive power. Sadly these two ravens, Heckle and Jeckle, were snatched up by a family of Golden Eagles and gone from our lives in minutes.

The Clark’s Nutcracker is very disappointed by the complete lack of Limber Pine cone crop in our area. Feeling rather sorry for them at eight below, we put out some pine nuts. I think they approve.

The last two years of my life has been a race against the elements to take a beautiful, intact landscape, tear the beejeebies out of it, and build a house. My partner in crime on this crazy project is also the love of my life, and so far we have never experienced such a relationship test as homebuilding. We have done ALL the work ourselves except dig the well and install the solar inverter. It has pushed us physically, mentally, and emotionally, but hey, we got a house out of it! Here’s what it looks like in a nutshell.
